Nestling at the foot of Muswell Hill, opposite the entrance to Ally Pally, the Victoria Stakes is a family-friendly, dog-friendly and comedy-friendly pub that the residents of Muswell Hill and Crouch End have always been fond of. There used to be a race course in Alexandra Palace, hence the rather sporty name.
Make yourself comfortable in the beer garden or go inside and enjoy a good selection of beers including Brooklyn and Camden Breweries, Newcastle Brown and Hammerton.
There’s also a decent wine selection, a fun cocktails menu, and the usual pub fare. If you’re after something a little more hearty, take a look at the the seasonal British menu, featuring ribeye of beef, a short-rib cheeseburger or whole lemon sole. Bar snacks include buttermilk fried chicken, chicken katsu scotch eggs, hand-cut chips and more.
Events are regularly hosted here, from private weddings to open-to-all comedy nights and even post-natal classes. Pop in for a pint sometime.
